The Civil War in Cheshire – The Battle of Malpas, 26TH August 1644
Cheshire saw significant military action during the Civil wars of the 17th century. Major battles would be fought at Rowton Moor, Winwick, Nantwich and Middlewich but there were many minor skirmishes throughout the countryside, which impacted virtually every, town, village and city in the county.
